New address and future changes

Well I've got this fancy new domain, hurray! Since I'm all official now and such I do plan *eventually* to re-design the site a bit, I've thought of a couple new ideas and they seem neat. But of course not until I finish some of my customers jobs ;) In the mean time, enjoy the new address!

Things are changing!

Well, a lot has changed lately. After I quit my job at the library I started doing my freelance art work about 7 months ago, since then my artwork has been pretty steady. Then I started working with a small group of people who are developing games for android/iphone (mobile devices), I've finished my portion of the first game for the group and now we're just waiting on the programmers to finalize the game. We've gotten some commission work for websites and other misc jobs to get money for licenses and other needed costs for the company, we've recently become an LLC which is pretty exciting, seems all official and stuff. One of the guys in our group who is our main web-host is also developing a game for the ipad on the side of our main groups projects, and he has hired me as the artist for the game. So I'm working on that as well, not to mention the group (Rapture Games) has started another game which I guess we aren't officially "starting" until January, so I guess it's not too much pressure on that quite yet but I'm trying to create an art direction for that too. And of course the most exciting news is that my son (Drake) is due December 29! So I think this is the busiest time I've ever had in my entire life, it's exciting and a little stressful too, but not terribly much. Oh and I have my part-time job on the side too but that's hardly considered work, hehe.

Oh and the company I'm developing games for has a website up now too! See it here: Rapture Game Studios

Well hello stranger...

You know about that previous "Dead Zone" post I posted about previously, well that went away quickly. I've been busy with commissions ever since I started this little freelance gig, I really appreciate all the work everyone has been giving me through this process.
In other news, I'm currently working with a team called "Rapture Game Studios" on some indie games of our own as their Character Artist. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but if I have it just shows you that I'm pretty excited about it. Haha.
Oh and the wife and I are now having a baby boy, big big news. I added the design I made up for the baby shower cards in the "Originals" section of the site.

Enjoy!

Dead Zone

Well I've practically depleted my list of customers, with the exception of one, and I'm looking for more people who would be interested in getting some art work made for themselves. I know lately I've been doing a lot of family portraits, and that's great if you are wanting one, but keep in mind I can draw really anything you desire. So if you want something done drop me a line at my email! (befarrar85 at gmail dot com) I hope to hear from you soon!

Busy Busy Busy...

As of late I've gotten a lot of commission requests, which is great! It's just something I'm still not 100% used to yet, only lately have I been getting commission work at all, not to mention the explosion of awesome people contacting me lately. I'm totally grateful and excited to be working with everyone, I'm just letting you know that I'm trying to finish things as quickly as possible and I really appreciate everyone's patience so far. Thanks!

In other news, I'm working with a group called "Rapture Game Studios" as a concept artist and hopefully we're going to get down to brass tacks soon and get this game-production ball on the move!

ACPL Social Media Group

One of my recent projects along with all the commissions I'm getting is for the Allen County Public Library here in town, they have an organization called the "Social Media Group" that I'm doing caricatures for their blogger people. They didn't want to have their actual photos up on the web so they hired me to illustrate them in a somewhat simplified form. I'm very excited to be working with them and it's an exciting opportunity.

Tiny Update!

Hello all, I'm still alive don't worry. I just am not much of a blogger, which needs to change. Mainly because I plan on updating everyone through blogger! So anyway, what's been going on with me in the art world? Well, due to some of you wonderful people I've gotten many more commissions, and my wife Christie is also running a sweepstakes where someone can win a free family portrait caricature! Exciting stuff I know!

Also in the way of news, I plan on trying to feed this blog onto my actual website...somehow, I know it can be done I just need to figure out the ins and outs of what's what with it. ;) That way if you aren't a blogspot person per-say you can always just visit my website to find out the latest updates! (If anyone out there is familiar with blogger rss feeds and dreamweaver send me a message :)

Another exciting thing going on is that on top of all my commissions and sweepstakes I also just recently started working with a group called "Rapture Game Studios" who is a game development group that I will be doing concept art for and we're actually in the process of creating our first game! Woo!

Other than all that....lot of stuff. Not much else! Hehe.

Ps. You also may have noticed I updated the blog background/title/profile image. It was too boring compared to my actual site, now they match! Enjoy!
